026 Yangjiang Chinese New Year: Folk Customs Parade Brings Joy, BONET Sends Warm Year of the Horse Blessings

The highlight was the “Intangible Heritage Celebrates Spring” Folk Customs Parade on the 5th day of the lunar new year (Feb 21, 2026) Starting at Yangjiang Xuegong (Confucius Temple), the route wound along Taifu Road and the river embankment. Nearly 300 performers formed ten grand troupes: majestic dragon & lion dances, the God of Wealth in golden robes tossing chocolate coins, playful Big-Headed Dog skits delighting children, traditional Danjia (Tanka) wedding processions with colorful sedans, powerful Yangjiang Shaolin martial arts displays, plus street dance, square dance, and ethnic costume groups. Crowds reached out for blessings, phones recorded every moment — the energy was electric!
Another must-do was “Tuocheng Xing Da Yun – Good Luck Every Day”. The 2.3 km historic route received a major upgrade: rebuilt Qingyun Archway, restored blue-brick gray-tile streets, stone carvings of historical stories, dazzling nighttime lights, plus intangible heritage markets, rickshaw parades, interactive time-travel zones… Horse-themed decorations everywhere created the perfect “Galloping Horse in Tuocheng, Intangible Heritage Starts New Luck” vibe — 100% photogenic at every step.
